President Tinubu’s Arrival at Saudi-Africa Summit
Arrival in Riyadh:
The footage capturing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s arrival in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for the Saudi-Africa Summit surfaced on Thursday.
The Nigerian leader was warmly welcomed by officials of the Saudi Arabian government at the King Khaled International Airport in Riyadh.
The video, courtesy of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), showcased the reception of President Tinubu by the Saudi authorities.
President Tinubu was not alone during his trip, as he was accompanied by a distinguished delegation.
Among the notable figures in the entourage were the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb Yusuf Tuggar; Minister of Education, Prof Tahir Mamman; Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance, Wale Edun; Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr Betta Edu; and the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Bagudu.
Other key members included the National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu; Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Amb. Ahmed Rufai Abubakar; and Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Mallam Jalal Arabi.
President Tinubu Launches Digital Registration Systems
In a separate development, President Tinubu launched the Digital Civil Registration and Vital Statistics System (CRVS) and the National Geospatial Data Repository.
The launch event took place at the Banquet Hall of the State House in Abuja on Wednesday.
Importance of CRVS:
President Tinubu emphasized the significance of the Civil Registration and Vital Statistics System, considering it as the fundamental building block of an identity ecosystem.
Committee Inauguration: As part of the initiative, President Tinubu inaugurated the National Coordination Committee for CRVS, underscoring the commitment to the effective implementation of these crucial systems.
President Tinubu’s participation in the Saudi-Africa Summit and the launch of digital registration systems reflect a proactive engagement in international affairs and a commitment to advancing technological solutions for governance and identity management.
